Alex Pryor MPhil
Mark studied Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge, where he is completing his PhD, specialising in the Paleolithic, and working on climatic reconstruction in the context of human dispersal and occupation in the northern areas of Europe 50,000-20,000 years ago. He has excavated sites in Britain, Turkey, Czech Republic and Russia.

Julie Beisner LLB
Julie read for her LLB through the University of London External Programme and so understands the pressures on part-time students. She has run her own small business since leaving school. Julie tutors various law subjects for us and has contributed written materials for course revisions.

Sarah Burchett Dip London College of Fashion ITEC MFPPTH
Sarah studied hairdressing, wig-making, cosmetics, body & hair care, biology & chemistry at the London College of Fashion. She trained at the West London School of Massage and became a member of the Faculty of Practising Professional Therapists. She has worked for a number of well-known theatre companies and now runs her own practice. Sarah wrote and tutors our Learn Massage course.

Martin Burr MA Dip Comp Phil Barrister
Martin is a practising barrister specialising in Chancery work and regularly tutors and writes in legal subjects. He has many musical interests, as both composer and performer.

Dr Rosie Campbell BA MA PhD
Rosie read Politics at the University of Southampton and completed her PhD at Birkbeck College, London, where she is presently a lecturer.

Dr Andrew Chibi MA PhD
Andrew tutors at the University of Leicester and has written several books and articles on many aspects of the early modern period. Andrew gained his Degrees in Toronto and Sheffield. Andrew has written the Early Modern History courses for The Distance Learning Partnership.

Arthur Duggan MA BA DPA
Arthur was Head of History at several grammar schools, and has been an examiner at GCE O Level, GCSE and AL History for various boards as well as being a Chief Examiner in Government & Politics. Arthur has written several Modern History units for the Distance Learning Partnership.

Joanna Gray BSc
Jo studied Psychology at the University of Plymouth before transferring to the Open University, and so has experience of distance learning. She has since carried out research for the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College, London, besides offering private tutoring in psychiatric nursing and teaching English to foreign students.

Elaine Horrocks BSc ILTM CPFA FIIA PIIA
Elaine has wide experience as an accountant and internal auditor. She is currently self-employed as a training consultant specialising in accountancy and audit. She is also an examiner for a professional auditing association. Elaine has written CAT material for the Distance Learning Partnership and acts as consultant as well as tutor.

Hamish Mitchell FnstICES MRICS
Hamish formerly combined extensive teaching with a practice in quantity surveying and was involved for many years with the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors as examiner, trainer and member of the education & training committee. Hamish is now a full-time author, whose book Method of Measurement of Highway Works is due for publication in 2008. Hamish has a special interest in military fortifications and Victorian railways. Hamish has written, devised and tutors many of our construction courses.

Dr Ryan Rabett BA PhD
Ryan studied Ancient History and Geography by correspondence while living in Canada, and went on to read Archaeology & Anthropology at Cambridge. He has lectured and supervised undergraduate students and is currently researching discoveries in the Far East. He has diverse archaeological interests, with leanings to the Paleolithic, early technology, theory and fauna studies. Ryan has written our GCE AS Archaeology course.

Raymond J Taylor ACIS ACIB FFA Dip Distance Ed
Ray has specialised in distance education since 1979, following a career in banking. He is currently an examiner and consultant for several boards in book-keeping and accounting subjects. Ray has written and tutors courses for us in CAT subjects, book-keeping, payroll and VAT.
